Legacurry Pre-School staff are qualified Early Years Specialists: having attained both BA Honours Degrees and NVQ Level 5 in the field; they have also accumulated substantial and diverse specialist experience in early years education. Each staff member has vetted by our Social Services Trust and police checked by Access NI. They are trained in Child Safeguarding and First Aid which is refreshed every three years.

The role of the staff is vital to ensure the children achieve the learning outcomes of the pre-school curriculum.  They support this:

• Through careful planning, diligent resource selection, preparation and display

• Attentive adult interaction and key questioning

• Meticulous observation and assessments of individual children’s learning and development

 

This will inform further planning and spontaneous intervention to assist and enhance learning to ensure each child reaches their potential in each of the six curriculum areas provided.
